Good Afternoon everyone,
I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks to all the folks who came out the other night, that was a room full of concern and commitment. I also want to let folks know that it can be difficult for School Committee members and city councilors (all 9 of which were in attendance the other night) to comment on blogs or through email about any issues that we may have to vote on. It is real easy to violate the open meeting law and enter into digital deliberation using electronic messaging of any form.

Intention is irrelevant, even if someone else forwards our thoughts to enough members, it is a violation. (I'm not an open meeting law attorney, that is the advise I have gotten). In my case, I have refrained from responding to the many emails I have received, or posting on the various blogs, but I have read them all and have tried to return all phone calls.
FYI, most of the budget information for the city and the schools is available on the 2 websites, www.beverlyma.gov and www.beverlyschools.org. If you want to get in touch, please don't hesitate to call, or feel free to email and let me know a good time to call. I'm available to meet w/ any individual or group, to discuss this or any other school business.
Thanks again,
Jim Latter
